Pastor

Terry Blankenship

Our pastor, Terry Blankenship, grew up in the Dallas area. The son of a blue-collar family, Terry has learned the values of hard work and personal relationships. He strongly believes that successful living is not what you attain through material possessions but the relationships you build along life's journey.

He takes great pride in his family. Married over 30 years to his wife, Deborah, they have collectively raised their three children Jeff, Kelly, and Dustin. All three of their grown children are now married.

Terry is in his fourth pastorate. He has pastored in Cherokee, Alabama, Tyler and Dallas. He served his last church for 11 years in the inner-city prior to coming to Greenville. Our pastor has an earned Bachelor of Science degree from the Criswell College in Dallas, Texas. He then graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Associate Pastor (Music, Students, Education)

Doug Stevens

Doug Stevens has been in church-related ministries since the 70's. While completing a Bachelor of Science degree from Pan American University (University of Texas at Pan American) he traveled in a gospel group called "Liberty."

In the 80's and 90's he served churches in Texas and Arkansas. He came to the First Baptist Church of Greenville in December of 1995. He currently oversees three important ministries including music, students, and education. Doug is married to his high school sweetheart, Lois, and they have 6 children.

Our Facilities

God has truely blessed our family with a wonderful meeting area. In addition to a santuary for our main worship we also hold three city blocks full of offices, a family center, a bible study, parking, and a chapel. Although we appreciate these buildings very much we have grown to understand that the people of the church are the truely important part and that a building is simply walls and a roof without them.
